What are Permanent Cosmetics?
From the beginning
of time, women have used their eyes and lips to communicate with the opposite
sex. Every woman wants to be beautiful, to be admired. Now making the chore much
easier is Permanent Makeup ("PMU"). Facial Art Permanent Cosmetics performs
cosmetic tattooing on eyebrows, eyeliner and lips and creates beauty marks,
offering free consultations. Looking beautiful has never been easier. And PMU is
actually a very affordable way to maintain your beauty and enhance those areas
which you feel need special attention or focus. When compared to the price most
women pay for daily cosmetics and the time it takes to apply, PMU proves to be a
sensational, cost-effective, time-savings way to look and feel your best all
day, every day, every night and month after month.
Permanent
cosmetics, also referred to as micro pigmentation, is the sophisticated process
of inserting specially formulated colored pigments into the dermal layer of the
skin.
Permanent cosmetics
procedures are performed using various machines and methods. These procedures are a process, which include a free
consultation, the first application of pigment and one touchup visit 5 to 6
weeks later to adjust shape, color or density of the pigment.
BEWARE!
In Michigan, there currently is NO regulating board (other than in Wayne
County where the Health Department makes annual inspections and grants licenses
to those adhering to its strict qualifications) governing tattooing and in
particular PMU. This means that
ANYONE can pick up a tattoo machine, read a book and/or buy a video and think
they can do permanent makeup! I
always ask that potential clients ask plenty of questions and become informed of
just what they need to know regarding PMU. You only have ONE face and PMU is just what it says it is – “Permanent!!” Make sure you choose the right technician before you give them your face to work on. Look at their portfolio, ask questions, will they offer you a free consultation, does the price cover an initial and perfecting session, do they have a brochure? I caution all callers to visit the Society of Permanent Cosmetics Professional website (spcp.org) and the American Academy of Micropigmentation (aam.org) to find technicians that care about their business and the industry to invest in memberships. Both of these websites are accessible from the General Information link on my website homepage. My credentials and memberships can be found in the "About Me" section. I believe I received my training at one of the finest schools in the country and I would love for you to come see me for a free consultation! Thank you!
